Fritz guist
Financial Advisor/President

I am a third generation Financial Advisor whose deep family roots in the financial services industry are evident in the approach I take with each and every client. I believe that absolute candor and hard work is the only way to a successful client – advisor relationship. I pride my work on having a foundation of simplicity, timeliness, and transparency.I prefer to conduct business the same way my father and grandfather would have appreciated with appointments over coffee instead of emails and an open exchange of dialogue instead of the all-too-common investment lecture. I believe the only way to keep a client’s best interest in mind is to take a deep look at their life and place myself in their shoes.

Originally hailing from Oregon, IL, I am a graduate of Western Illinois University where I excelled in the business curriculum and was named the Marketing & Finance Departmental Scholar of the Year (2005). My time at WIU helped me to understand my strengths and taught me to set my sights on helping my clients achieve a richer, more fulfilling life.

Outside the office, I consider myself to be extremely lucky as I married my best friend, Cassandra, in 2012. We share the most rewarding life I could have ever asked for; although some days we feel like we are merely at the mercy of our sons’ schedules. Lennon & Sterling remind us that the most important thing in life has always been family. There is nothing we cherish more than watching them grow and showing them the world on our family trips. Whether playing snow birds in Mexico or catching the White Sox in Chicago, as long as we are together, we have it all.

janice sherrod
Administrative assistant

I am Janice Sherrod and I am the financial administrative assistant and Guist Wealth Advisors. I graduated from Beloit Memorial High School and served in the United States Air Force as a Fire Protection Specialist. My duties there included fire inspector and Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of Dispatching. Some people say that is where I learned to put out the fires we sometimes experience in this business. I served time both stateside and abroad prior to retiring after 15 years in the military. I then spent time working as a security dispatcher for two major security companies before entering the financial services business.

I enjoy the relationships I’ve developed and the people I’ve been able to meet while working here at Guist Wealth Advisors. I am the mother of two wonderful boys, Vincent and Joshua, and enjoy gardening, cooking, and sports in my free time.
